March 16, 2010
Hi all,
Firstly,
On Saturday March 20th we are holding a community event at Lynn Valley Mall to showcase Fromme and our cause. We will be blitzing the mall to speak to people about Fromme, the reasons it should stay open and also asking for signatures from people who may not have signed our petition already.
There are a few ways you can participate:
- We are looking for students to sit in our mini classroom at the desks manning petition pages. ( one hour shifts)
- We are also looking for students and parents to move respectfully through out the mall to direct people to our presentation or to sign our petition.
- Just come to the mall, say hello and be part of the day.
This is a chance for us as a community to show our neighbours, the other members of our family of schools, and also other North Vancouver residents what makes Fromme School a great place to learn.
If you can help on this day please contact Cindy Lanctot at lanctot@shaw.ca
Secondly,
Mr. Thompson, who sponsors the green team, suggested we set up a petition table at this months recycling event. Brent Zaparniuk and a few others will be there. Please encourage your friends and neighbours not only to take their recyclables to Presentation House but to take time to sign our petition. Please contact Brent at bhanz@shaw.ca
Thirdly,
Now is the time to send those personal letters to the Board of Trustees. What will closing Fromme mean to your children and your family? If you have already sent a letter please consider sending another. If you haven’t had a chance to send one yet please consider taking the time to do so now. The emails of the trustees etc are still on the website but if you are able to create time in your life to send a handwritten letter these are politically the most powerful. Also please remember Friday March 19th is the cut off day for our petition. All the paper copies need to be turned into class reps or in the PAC box by then.
Finally just a reminder on Wednesday March 17th 7pm in the library we will be having our PAC meeting. Our two working group Reps Mark Ferbers and Stewart Johnstone will be present to speak on the process so far, answer questions and get feedback from our community. Child care will be provided but if you could email me if you are planning to use the child care and how many children you will be bringing it would be helpful. hskuse@shaw.ca
Thanks
Heather Skuse
